Microsoft Defender blocks install.

This is common with new software and a small community of users.  Concerned? Verify our software here

PhraseIt doesn't open after install.

 

I can't login.

 

Sync doesn't work.

These errors are almost always caused by antivirus and firewall restrictions. Unfortunately, this is common with new software and a small community of users. We're constantly working to safely increase access to PhraseIt Medical. Please contact your IT team if you require permission to install on a work computer.

1. Open your antivirus software
2. Create an exception for PhraseIt Medical

3. Restart your computer and open PhraseIt

PhraseIt doesn't open.

 

I can't login.

 

Sync doesn't work.

These errors are almost always caused by an institution's antivirus and firewall restrictions. We're constantly working to safely increase access to PhraseIt Medical. In the meantime, the options below may help.

USB files on Desktop

OPTION 1

1. Open and Sync PhraseIt on your home PC. See here if not working


2. Make a copy of the "default.sqlite" file located in PhraseIt's "phrases" folder on your home computer


3. Copy the home default.sqlite file to the "phrases" folder on your work computer(s). Replace existing file if prompted

4. Restart your work computer


5. Open PhraseIt but exit Login screen instead of entering your username and password. PhraseIt should be running in the background

This option allows PhraseIt to run but your institution's firewall will still block Sync. Saved changes cannot be stored to the cloud without Sync.

OPTION 1

1. Encrypt your USB drive

2. Restart your computer and open PhraseIt

Windows BitLocker encryption is accepted by many institutions. See here for detailed instructions

1. Open and Sync PhraseIt on your home PC. See here if not working

 

2. Remove USB drive without exiting PhraseIt Medical


3. Open PhraseIt on USB at work but exit Login screen instead of entering your username and password. PhraseIt should be running in the background

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each computer

This option allows PhraseIt to run but your institution's firewall will still block Sync. Saved changes cannot be stored to the cloud without Sync. Recommend save any changes to the cloud by Syncing on your home PC.

OPTION 2

USB files on USB

 

I'm missing phrases and folders.

This can occur if PhraseIt's initial Sync with a newly created account is disrupted. If this has happened you will see:

  • "PhraseIt" is the ONLY folder in your PhraseIt Library

  • You get few to no suggestions when typing your note or exploring the online tutorial

  • Templates contain repeating phrases

1. Contact us. We will need to reset your account
2. Verify that your antivirus software or firewall is not blocking PhraseIt's access to the internet

3. Be sure to have a strong internet connection every time you login to PhraseIt to allow for successful Sync
